Italian Stone Pine (Pinus pinea)
Stone pines are hardy, fast-growing, heat and drought-tolerant. These trees are native to the Mediterranean region and have grey-green needles when young, maturing to longer dark green needles. The trees grow in a classic conical pine shape, changing gradually to an umbrella shape with a clear stem after age 12.
For more information on the Stone pine, check out the Tree library.
