Horticulturalist
We are seeking a horticulturalist to join our small team. This role will focus on daily activities associated with Christmas tree production across our farm and nursery sites in the Bathurst and Oberon region.
Essential Qualifications and Experience.
Car licence and own transport
Tertiary qualifications in Horticulture or related discipline or extensive industry experience
Minimum 2 years experience in Nursery or Horticultural industry
Tractor/machinery operation and maintenance experience
Desirable Qualifications and Experience (or willingness to obtain).
Chemical Card
First Aid Certification
LR, MR, HR licence
Chainsaw ticket
Forklift ticket
4WD experience
Adept in MS office suite and Data management
Attributes:
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Meets performance targets and demonstrates competence in assigned tasks
Demonstrates good work ethic and collaborates with small work team
Starting salary: $55,000 - $70,000.00 per year
Flexible work arrangements considered (minimum 24hrs per week, up to 38)

Horticultural Traineeship
We have a vacancy for a full time 12-24 month horticultural traineeship position. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to complete a Cert II or III in Horticulture, nursery production or related courses. This role requires 4 days of farm and nursery work and 1 paid day to attend TAFE in Bathurst or Orange.
The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
Fit, healthy and able to undertake physical tasks on the farm and in the nursery
Have car licence and own transport
An interest and desire to learn about horticulture and production of Christmas trees and plant propagation of conifers
Good work ethic
Ability to work apart of a small team
Ability to work independently and show initiative
Commitment and desire to study and work
Conduct themselves in a professional and polite manner, particularly when interacting with customers
Experience in horticultural or nursery industry is desirable but not essential
Examples of tasks include (but are not limited to):
Assist in the daily care and maintenance of the nursery, including tasks such as potting and weeding.
Assist in daily care and maintenance of field trees
Assist the team in the site preparation and planting of Christmas trees
Prepare nursery stock for distribution to customers

Casual Work
Casual workers wanted 15 - 45hrs per week (negotiable). Award or higher rates available.
We are expanding our nursery and plantation and are looking for help with a wide range of jobs including: Sowing seeds, potting trees, weeding, weed spraying, field preparation, tree planting, irrigation setup, infrastructure construction & general farm prep work for upcoming planting season. Part-time or temporary full-time casual work for up to 4 people available with the possibility of ongoing work for the right person/s.
Assist our small team in the field and nursery. Would suit a fit and active person willing to work outdoors in all weather. Work is highly physical, good fitness is critical. Will need your own car as sites are rural. You must be willing to travel to both farms as required. Farms are located at Black Springs (near Oberon) and Yetholme (near Bathurst). Work this year will be 75% at Black Springs, 25% at Yetholme. Previous nursery, horticulture or farm hand experience would be highly regarded.
